The occasion for writing now about symphonic composer Betsy Jolas is that Jolas will become ninety-seven (97) years of age on August 5, 2023. While contemplating how to live a long, hopefully wonderful to whatever extent may be possible, and hopefully productive, life here on earth, considering what might constitute wonderful, and considering what might constitute productive, the lives of people like nonagenarian composer Betsy Jolas quickly rise to the top of the list of exemplary people to try to emulate in a variety of ways.
