This project, my Flourish of Flora by Marilyn Perry photo series, involved many hours of extensive photo production work over the course of several weekends in order to produce these many photographs. Because horticultural photographs are best produced during the early morning and/or the late evening, this project involved arising early in the morning, before dawn, to be ready at dawn, to venture out and create these photos of summer flowers, for days upon end, on safari for gardens with flowers, and on safari for the inspirational perspectives through a camera viewfinder that make these photographs, and these sorts of photographs both technically and artistically possible. These photographs are only possible, also, because of the homeowners who spend hours upon hours planting and nurturing their gardens each years, and watering and weeding their gardens so that these plants thrive and bloom each Spring and Summer season.
